WHY PAHRUMP, NEVADA?
In Pahrump you can see the stars at night and you can see the blue sky during
the daytime. We are lacking pollution, crime and traffic. We are
located about 65 miles outside of Las Vegas so if you need some madness in your
life, it's only a traffic free hour away. We are an excellent location for
the RV'er because of the wonderful people here and the inexpensive cost of
living. Our taxes are at about 1%, we have no state tax and insurance
rates are very low. Our valley has approximately 216 days of clear sunny
weather, 84 days of partly cloudy, and 65 days of cloudy weather and we have
about 4.7 inches of rainfall. Our humidity is in the 29% range.
Temperatures reach the 100's in the summer but we always have a gentle breeze to
help out and the evenings cool down into the 70's to 80's. Winters are in
the 30's to 80's range and nights are about the same. The current census
places the population total at 25,000 but we believe it is now closer to
30,000. We have many activities in town, hiking, biking, golfing, and the
ever popular BINGO! We are close to Death Valley, Ash Meadows, Tecopa Hot
Springs, skiing at Mt. Charleston, Furnace Creek, Amargosa Opera House, Dumont
Dunes, skiing in Utah, and of course the shows in Las Vegas! We have
numerous churches and clubs in our valley. Our history goes back to the
Paiute Indians who named this. valley Pah Rimpi which meant water rock, this is
because water was found at natural springs throughout the valley. We had
farmers who grew cotton, alfalfa, vegetables, and fruit. We now mostly
grow alfalfa. We have newly constructed public and private schools and we
have a Dairy and a Winery, and a new Community College with a high tech
center, computer labs, fine arts room and science lab. Our new Library is
a beautiful structure and able to serve our community. Ground breaking for
the new hospital is expected any time now. Wal-Mart Superstore is
